The company is Australia's largest domestic natural gas producer and has the largest Australian exploration portfolio by area. our client is developing a world-first, multibillion-dollar project to convert Coal Seam Gas (CSG) into LNG at our Gladstone LNG plant. They have more than 2,200 Australian-based employees plus operations and offices in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh and Tajikistan. They have a total market capitalisation of approximately $12 billion, making it one of Australia’s Top 30 companies. Reporting to the Vice President - Technical & Engineering, the General Manager D&C builds and manages a successful and sustainable drilling & completions business across our client’s assets and delivers programs and projects on time and within budget with a strong focus on engineering, EHS and operational performance. Setting and communicating the direction, vision and role accountabilities to ensure the organisation is aligned to the vision, the General Manager drives results and process improvements and leads change initiatives effectively across the D&C teams to ensure a smooth transition. This role provides functional leadership across the organisation to implement a clear structure of systems and standards for drilling and completions, ensuring compliance with drilling policies, standards and procedures. The GM establishes clear standards for EHS performance and behaviour consistent with the Company’s environmental and health & safety vision and policies. The GM leverages the D&C position with contractors, service companies and suppliers, developing and implementing vendor and contractor strategy. With a Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent industry experience, the successful candidate will have diverse and significant drilling engineering and operational experience, including a proven background of experience in a senior people leadership role, ideally managing a large and diverse team. With a strong EHS ethos and the ability to drive safety culture across teams and strong verbal and written communications skills, the GM is a champion of change and able to drive continuous improvement within the function.
